16, 2007 – The new MicroTCA system standard was developed as a
compact solution for costs-critical applications to supplement
AdvancedTCA (ATCA). Rittal and its subsidiary Kaparel, the
worldwide specialist for high-speed backplanes, are actively
involved in the development of this new technology standard. In
2005, Rittal already had running MicroTCA systems in use at
leading card manufacturers and system integrators and presented
its first cube solutions. Rittal now rolls out standardised
solutions in 2, 3 und 5 U including backplane for direct
incorporation of AdvancedMC modules at half and full height.
MicroTCA
features a very small construction form, high scalability and
significantly reduced system costs. Thanks to its compactness,
the system can be mounted variably in a 482.6 mm (19“)
enclosure on the wall orin an enclosure. Die AdvancedMC modules
can be plugged directly on the backplane without carrier card.
The advantages of MicroTCA expand the range of uses outside
telecommunication, e.g. medical technology, security technology
or industrial automation.
Rittal
MicroTCA systems are available as 19“ rack-mounted systems,
200 mm deep, completely assembled and ready to connect. Fan
units are additionally integ rated in the 3 and 5 U systems.

Kaparel/Rittal
Electronic Systems offers ”complete know-how” in the field of electronic
packaging: starting from variable subrack systems, diverse enclosures, power
supplies and climate control concepts, right up to complex microcomputer
packaging systems that are fully assembled, ready-wired and tested. From the
first meeting, via application engineering, system development supervision
and prototyping, through to monitoring of the final product in use, Kaparel
attaches the greatest importance to a constant exchange with its customers
giving them a competitive advantage in their respective markets.
