Further enhancing the commitment to CompactPCI® and VME, Rittal/Kaparel has released Slim-Box a cost effective family of horizontal rack-mounted enclosures developed for carrier grade, telecom, Internet and embedded control applications. This high-density platform houses front computer boards, rear I/O boards, hot pluggable power supplies and provides maximum cooling. Slim-Box is a compact high performance computing solution.

Available in 1U 2-Slot, 2U 4-Slot, 3U 6-Slot and 4U 8-Slot 19” rack-mount, 300 mm (11.811”) deep design. The units are DC cooling configured from left-to-right (right-to-left, optional). The units include 6U 64-bit/66 MHz CompactPCI® or VME64x monolithic backplanes with integrated power supply backplane.

Rittal/Kaparel offers custom Slim-Box solutions that meet the needs of customer applications. Slim-Box CompactPCI® versions conform to IEEE 1101.1/10/11 and CompactPCI® specification 2.0. The Slim-Box VME versions conform to IEEE 1101.1/10/11 and VITA-1, VITA 1.1.
