| Kaparel purchases Jardon Engineering, California PCB Design House |

Kaparel Corporation announced today that it has purchased Jardon Engineering, Inc. a Tustin California based PCB design house. The purchase is part of Kaparel's overall business plan to become the leader in high-speed backplane solutions and to continue their growth in the global telecom market.
In a joint announcement, Kaparel President and CEO, Ben Robitaille, and Jardon Engineering President, Robert Jardon, explained the philosophy behind the sale and the intent to maintain Jardon as a separate division of Kaparel Corporation remaining in California and retaining their current management team and employees.
Mr. Robitaille stated, "The intent of the purchase of Jardon Engineering is to capitalize on their customer base to take their designs to production at Kaparel. Jardon also adds a new level of high-speed design experience, techniques and tools to Kaparel's efforts in the market."
Mr. Robitaille also added, "Jardon's reputation for advanced high-speed designs, reliability and customer service is well known in the industry and is complementary to our own position and philosophy.
Similarly, Mr. Jardon commented, "The Kaparel partnership fits into our business plan to expand our business into the production of the boards we design."
Mr. Jardon will continue at Jardon, as Director of Design Technology/Chief Designer, reporting to Mr. Robitaille. Mr. Les Cotton, currently Jardon's Vice President/General Manager, will manage the Jardon Operation under Kaparel.
The purchase of Jardon follows the purchase of Kaparel by Rittal-Werk, Herborn, Germany in December 2000. Together, these purchases form a partnership that will provide telecom OEMs with a more integrated solution to assist them in gaining efficiencies in their business, with faster time to market. This will be important in the current economic environment in the telecom market.
Under the terms of the agreement, no financial details were disclosed.
