| Kaparel Corporation announces PS6600 - 6U x 8HP CompactPCI-SCSI hard disk drive module |

Kaparel Corporation today announced the launch of their PS6600 CompactPCI-SCSI hard disk drive module. This module allows a SCSI hard disk drive to be added to any CompactPCI embedded system, without also requiring the addition of a sub-chassis. This capability was not possible prior to the PS6600.
Kaparel’s Director of Engineering, Jacques Houde, commenting on the PS6600 introduction, stated "The design is a simple, flexible solution that allows access to disk drive space on any existing embedded CompactPCI system."
The PS6600 contains a 1² high Seagate Barracuda 18XL hard drive with 18.4 GB of storage capacity, and a LSI 53C 1000 SCSI controller by LSI Logic. The product’s physical dimensions are 6U high, 8 HP wide, and 160 mm deep.
The PS6600 is easy to install, has plug-and-play functionality, and supports many common operating systems. The board can adjust to different hard drive capacities and models. The unit also accepts supporting cards that allow for the insertion of additional external SCSI devices. |
