| Kaparel Corporation named among Top 10 Fastest Growing Technology companies in Waterloo Region |

Kaparel Corporation announced today that it has been named one of the ten fastest growing technology companies in Waterloo Region (Canada’s Technology Triangle). Key sponsors of the survey, PricewaterhouseCoopers, made the announcement at the recent unveiling of the 2001 Techmap. The Techmap traces the genealogy of 411 technology-based companies in the area and shows the growth of technology companies in the area with lineage that started before 1925.
The current map updates the original map produced two years ago, which listed 300 firms. Dennis Grimm, managing partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, said, "The map shows that the area has all the ingredients in place to take technology as an industry to the next plateau." The Techmap is produced in partnership with the Communitech technology association and Canada’s Technology Triangle, the group that promotes economic development in the region.
The list of the ten fastest growing companies were selected based on year-over–year sales growth and subjective factors, such as community leadership and global presence. In addition to Kaparel the top ten companies include; ATS Automation Tooling systems, Dalsa, Descartes Systems, Fakespace Systems, Mitra, Northern Digital, Open Text, Research in Motion and Virtek.
"They (the top ten companies) really set the benchmark for other corporations on the map," said Dennis Grimm. "They are internationally recognized companies that have been very successful and will be very successful going forward."
