| Kaparel Corporation Announces New Headquarters Building in Waterloo |

Kaparel Corporation today announced it has signed a long term lease on a new 20,000 square foot facility to be built at 97 Randall Drive in Waterloo. The building owned by Marsland Centre Limited is in the PressWorks Business Park in North Waterloo. This new building will be the world headquarters and production facility for Kaparel Corporation - a spin off of PixStream Incorporated.
To celebrate the event Kaparel is holding an official ground breaking at the site on Thursday September 21, 2000 at noon in a tent to be erected on the site. The celebration will include the Kaparel staff, business partners and the press. Special guests will include Waterloo Mayor Joan McKinnon, the Honorable Elizabeth Witmer MPP for Waterloo, the Honorable Andrew Telegdi MP for Kitchener-Waterloo, Paul Eichinger Director of Business Development and Marketing for Waterloo and Greg Barratt, President of Communitech.
Started in 1999, Kaparel has outgrown its current facility at 564 Weber Street North, as the staff has increased from eight to 32 people to meet the demands of the global telecom market for their integrated backplane architecture solutions. Ben Robitaille, President and CEO of Kaparel stated, "The new facility will meet the growing needs of the company and the property offers the potential for an addition 15,000 sq. ft. to for future growth." Mr. Robitaille continued on to say that, "The market for Converging Communications (telecom & datacom) is estimated to be $239 B USD and Kaparel is gaining market share quickly by offering a unique service. This service allows our customers’ designers to concentrate on bringing up their application while we support them with reliable system architecture."
The building designed by RHL Architects of Kitchener is a unique design that offers large window expanses to provide natural light for both the office and production areas. Bradley Marsland, Vice President of Marsland Center Limited stated that "It is a pleasure to maintain this fine company as a tenant and to see the growth of companies in the K-W area in the world high tech markets" |
